Competition for Water in the Okanagan

In the semi-arid Okanagan valley, in the southern interior of the province of British Columbia, Canada, rapid immigration is putting tremendous pressure on scarce supplies of water and arable land.  IWREC member John Janmaat and colleagues at the Okanagan campus of the University of British Columbia are involved in a number of projects that seek to better understand the motivators driving water use decisions, and thereby to identify options for encouraging water conservation.
